I am running to represent West Virginia’s 63rd House District to serve the Eastern Panhandle and Berkeley County because we need change in our district. Excessive regulations, burdensome taxes, and wasteful spending from our state legislature have negatively impacted our quality of life for far too long. If elected, I want to ensure our state government works for you.

Coming from a military family background, I learned about the value of freedom and community as an Army Brat. During World War II, my grandfather served in the Army Air Corp, while my father was a deck gunner on Navy ships in the Pacific. My stepfather served in the Army. My son Tim served in the West Virginia Guard for 8 years, while my son Thomas did two combat tours in Iraq, earning a Purple Heart and Army Commendation Medal with Valor. Unfortunately, I was unable to serve due to hearing problems.

My upbringing encouraged me to get involved in my community. I have worked elections, been involved in political campaigns, and served in various political leadership roles at the local level. Before retiring, I was a CPA and served a term in the FDIC’s Office of Inspector General. My studies in Accounting and Computer Science at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California prepared me for all of that.

I came to West Virginia in the early 2000s thanks to my children. My wife Sharon and I are happy to call Berkeley home. We met and married here, share a blended family here, and attend church here.
